I really liked the social commentary of behind this movie. The idea that people would rather do things virtually than actually experience life and the movement to reverse it.
I really didn't rate the movie. The creepy make up to make the 'robot' versions (and Bruce Willis's terrible wig) hit you straight away.
The story was a bit disjointed - and not actually very sophisticated. The plot twist I half worked out... and that is never a good recommendation!
On the whole - it could have been so much better.

Nice idea... bad execution

If you read the book...

This film will really disappoint you if you read and loved Danny Wallace's "Yes Man". It is kind of like the book - but much, much less. It has been shoe-horned to get a romance in - and it doesn't work nearly so well translated to the other side of the Atlantic. I'm afraid the high point for me was Danny Wallace's cameo!

Not just for kids

I thought that this was going to be 'just a kids movie' - and at a basic level that is what it is... but there are a few surprising plot bits (well they surprised me) that makes it worth watching.

If you don't like Westerns...

Don't be put off watching this movie if you don't like Westerns. Yes it is set in the 'old west' but it isn't really just a Western. It is superbly acted and the story really pulls you along.

Why I love lost

It seems like I've been watching Lost forever (even though it is only six years) and it is hard to imagine TV after 2010 when Lost is finished.
The thing about Lost is there is always something more. The pieces of the jigsaw go all the way back to the first episode - and we're all still trying to figure it out. You can watch episodes time and time again trying to see if you missed a vital clue the first time round.
The only bad thing about Lost is that if you miss an episode you are pretty much done for... nothing much will make sense from there-on in.
Did they invent internet/interactive/viral TV? It seems like it. All those little 'extra' bits to help figure out the pieces of the puzzle with the Dharma Initiative and all.
If you missed the first five years - wait until the last season is over, then go out and buy the DVD and watch the lot in your own time - you won't be disappointed.
